Cecilia Shahandeh:
Owner/Manager/Instructor
Cecilia Shahandeh has been Dancing for 23 years and Teaching for
12 years. She choreographed for many Opera Workshops at College
of The Desert Starting at age 14. She has choreographed for the
Miss Palm Springs and Miss Indio Beauty Pageants. Cecilia is the
founder of Beyond The Beat Dance Team which formed in 2000 and
since then has performed at over 150 functions and won several
Talent Competitions throughout the valley. She was a Copa dancer in
the six month long tribute to Frank Sinatra at the Annenberg Theatre
when she was only 17.
She has taught at many different Elementary Schools, Country Clubs, Weddings, Parties,
Nightclubs and Studios throughout the Valley.
Cecilia has appeared on the NBC’s American Dreams by winning KMIR’s Rocktober Fest
Dance Competition and has made multiple appearances on KMIR’s Today Show as well as
KESQ’s TV’s News Channel 3 with her Dance Exhibitions. Cecilia has been the featured
Dancer in numerous Musical Chairs performances as well as the Wayland Pickard Tribute
to Liberace. She was awarded the 2006 & 2007 Musical Chairs Scholarship for
outstanding Youth Performer.
She has been a featured performer with the Ted Herman Orchestra at numerous
functions. She is a Swing & Latin Dance Champion. Cecilia has been a 2 time Overall
Winner of the McCallum Theatre's Open Call. She was also the Desert Theatres Leagues
Award Winner for Female Lead Dancer in a Ballet.

Cecilia traveled to Holland in 2000 with the King of Swing Buddy Schwimmer where she
studied extensively in Ballroom & Latin. Among the numerous coaches was Donnie Burns
whom she studied with privately. In addition Cecilia has trained with Dance Champion Ron
Montez. Cecilia has her Associates Degree in Liberal Arts as well as Theatre arts with an
emphasis in Acting. Cecilia is currently working towards her Bachelor's Degree in Business
Management. Cecilia is also an Official Certified ZUMBA Fitness Instructor.
